Bolton has not always been the easiest place to find a padel court, but that is changing fast. For a long time, players from the town were driving over to Salford, Bury or Manchester for a game. There is now a proper option in Bolton itself, plus a good spread of courts a short drive away, so you rarely have to travel far.
Playing in Bolton itself
The main option in the town is Just Padel Bolton, based at Bolton Central Business Park on Nelson Street, BL3 2JW. It is an indoor centre with around eight courts, and it runs long hours through the day and night, which suits shift workers, students and anyone who likes an early or late game. Court numbers and opening times can change as new clubs settle in, so it is worth checking the booking app before you set off.
Just Padel is also where you will find coaching in the town. Jorge Beltran is head coach there and runs lessons for all standards, from your first ever session to tidying up a serve. Powerleague has also been bringing padel to its Bolton site, so keep an eye on that if you already use the centre for five a side. Availability at leisure sites can vary, so check what is actually bookable before you plan a session.
Courts just outside Bolton
If Just Padel is full, or you simply want a change of scene, there are several courts within a short drive. Head towards the Salford and Wigan side and you have LR Padel Club in Atherton and Padel 16 in Worsley, both handy from the south and west of Bolton. Towards Bury and the north east, Heart of Padel in Radcliffe is one of the closest to Bolton, sitting just a few miles east of the town. Most clubs around here run on booking apps like Playtomic, so you reserve a court, pick your time and pay online before you arrive. If you do not have three other players, look for open matches, where the app slots you in with others at a similar level. Rackets are usually available to hire for a few pounds, which means you can try the game before spending on your own kit.
