How much does it cost to play padel in Manchester?
Court hire is usually somewhere between about £28 and £50 for a 60 to 90 minute slot, split between four players, so you are often looking at roughly £7 to £12 each. Off-peak slots and some indoor clubs price differently, so check the venue for exact rates.
Do I need my own racket to start?
No. Almost every Manchester venue hires rackets for a few pounds, so you can borrow one for your first few sessions and only buy once you know padel is sticking.
How many people do you need for padel?
Four, two against two, is the standard game. If you do not have a four, turning up to an Americano or Mexicano social is the easiest way to get on court, they rotate everyone in.
Is padel hard to learn?
Not really, it is one of the friendliest racket sports to pick up. Most people are rallying in their first session because the walls keep the ball in play and the court is small.

What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable sportswear and trainers with grip. Court or padel shoes with a herringbone sole help on the sand-dressed indoor turf most Manchester clubs use. Bring water and a tube of balls if you have one, most casual bookings do not include balls, though clubs usually sell them at the desk.
