The lowdown
Padel 16 is the padel arm of Worsley Sports Club, backed by former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Fabio Borini alongside local businessman Anthony Bingham. It opened on 4 May 2025 and sits inside a long-running club that already runs tennis, cricket, bowls and croquet, so there's an established clubhouse and car park rather than a bare industrial unit. The pitch from the owners is explicit: money made from the courts gets put back into the club rather than pulled out as profit, and the wider aim is to turn the site into a proper community hub.
That community angle shows up in practice. Padel 16 has already partnered with Bridgewater School to run curriculum PE sessions, and that programme is expanding from Year 10 only to Years 9 to 11 from September, with plans to bring in more Greater Manchester schools. For adults it's a solid pay-and-play option if you're in Worsley, Walkden, Boothstown or Monton and want somewhere sociable rather than corporate. It's outdoor only for now, so bear the Manchester weather in mind, though the courts are floodlit for evening sessions.
The courts
Four courts, all outdoor and floodlit for evening and winter play. There are no indoor or covered courts, so heavy rain will affect play, and the surface type isn't confirmed.
Prices and booking
Booking runs through Playtomic. Third-party listings show pay-and-play sessions at £13.50 per player for a 90-minute slot, quoted the same for peak and off-peak, but check the live Playtomic price before you book since these things move.
