Powerleague Padel Manchester opened in March 2025 as a £1.3 to £1.4 million addition to the existing Powerleague Nicholls site in Ardwick, the same complex that's run five-a-side and seven-a-side football for years. Six covered courts sit alongside the football pitches, with a new bar and social space built as part of the investment. An early review from Proper Padel rated it 8.5 out of 10, praising fast, well-sanded surfaces, high ceilings that let rallies run, and match-recording cameras on three of the six courts, a genuinely useful touch for anyone who wants to review their game afterwards.
It suits players who want reliable, competitively priced court time without the premium price tag some newer city venues charge, plus beginners: there's a free intro session with racket and ball hire included, and coaching runs alongside pay-and-play. It's less of a destination in itself than somewhere like Carbon down the road, this is padel bolted onto a well-established sports centre rather than a purpose-built padel-only club, so don't expect a boutique feel. Good for a straightforward game and a drink after, not for a big day out.
The courts
Six courts, all covered and floodlit, described in early coverage as a roofed outdoor set-up rather than a fully enclosed hall. Match-recording cameras are fitted on courts 1 to 3, there's no dedicated show court, and the exact surface isn't confirmed.

Reported rates are around £36 an hour off-peak and £42 an hour peak, roughly £9 to £10.50 per player for a four. Racket hire is £3 through the on-site Babolat partnership.
