The lowdown

This is the big one. Opened in phases through 2025 and now fully open with 11 courts, The Padel Club Trafford City bills itself as the UK's largest purpose-built padel facility, and on court count alone that's a fair claim. It sits right by the Trafford Centre, built from scratch rather than squeezed into a converted warehouse, with a proper clubhouse, coffee bar and cocktails, and enough space to feel like a destination rather than a bolt-on to a gym.

It suits a wide range of players. There's enough court volume and off-peak pricing to make it workable for casual weekday games, while the coaching setup under head coach Rick Piper and the academy classes make it a sensible first stop for total beginners. If you want atmosphere and buzz over bare-bones function, this is currently the standard-bearer in Greater Manchester.

The courts

Eleven courts in total: nine covered indoor and two outdoor, all with sports LED lighting for evening play. Some courts are fitted with Game Cam recording. The surface is described by the club only as top-tier padel surfaces with no further spec published, and no dedicated show court has been confirmed.

Prices and booking

Standard courts 1 to 4 and Game Cam courts 5 to 9 run £48 peak and £36 off-peak per hour, while the outdoor courts 10 and 11 are £42 peak and £32 off-peak. Peak times are weekdays 4pm to 11pm and weekends all day. Public academy classes run roughly £11 to £18.75. Bookings go through the Playtomic app.

Is The Padel Club Trafford City good for complete beginners?Yes. There's an academy with coaching for various levels, kit rental including free-to-use racquets, and enough off-peak court availability to book a taster session without much planning.
